ella's words are crisp
ecstasy
everlasting
equisite oral baby steps
closing artificial boundaries
between us
each vowel...
each verb...
a magnificent
daring of fantasy
and faith.

winterfemme
She turns over
a felled tree
she may
submit
or
sink
into the deep snow
of this
breathless
moist
glowing past
the other snowflakes
her need to be used
highlights winter's
need to use

courting patience
no one notices
the vacant house
the wall flower, whispered about by
the pretty willows
tears become bricks of loneliness
the door's still lovely mouth
murmurs: why the fence?
it isn't right
I need another family, so that I may
reclaim my balance
a new family
to be my everything.

for granted
my tongue intesifies
in daunting what ifs and only you,
as I watch you pale, placid face,
mesmerized as your fastidious
lips render me helpless.

Sacrament
The messenger was too handsome. A middle-school girl's idea
of a modern day Heathcliff. The birdcage was open, white and
glinting in the midday Sun, like beautiful American teeth. She
is enamored with his easygoing manner. They embrace waltzing
into her diary-hidden dreams. It's a fact: a diet of fruit, eggs and
salad is enough to sustain a young girl. And Bhrowen is ethereally
pretty now, her hair so long and shiny. Her friends are jealous.
At midnight he bathes her in their lake, and makes {whispery} love
to her as she trembles into womanhood.

Ache of Control
The dilliance was to be a mild digress
yet each time he remembers her soft hands
and softer heart, he cringes at the thought
of the imperious blunder he has made
due to his ego and own ripening feelings.

The sound of bells
Inside our magical joyroom.
This stain on my heart, changes
enters another dimension.
I answer only to you.

Out of the Wasteland.
See the scarlet on their tongues?
The dancer sways oiled and inked, no doubt her sparks
will displace their feathery attempts to capture her golden soul.
These others have an unfillable hole, a wanting so
wet, their need shamelessly sprays into the crowd,
A crowd tied to another voyage, closed to these interloppers.
They rise as one shooting off words: crazed couriers without mercy.
The others wander off, growing more feeble with each broken step.
The others wander off, growing more feeble with each broken step.
The dancer recalls drinking Lethe. Surviving to dance her.

Levitation
Pregnant and fearless on the boulevard
in a tank top, hair piled on her head like a
volcano, about to erupt.
She's fearless, fearless Keyla calming down an
old man in their shared tongue: Espanol:
words, deep, strong like the ocean.
Serene as eagle she swoops down, puts her hands
on his grandson and hoists him to her breasts
while she totals up the bill.
Keyla didn't anticipate her baby's father coming
in today. He presents her with an Pepsi, she
kisses the air around his muscled frame,
and he's gone, as if someone killed the light.

Whatever, My Dear...I Shall Wait.
Is it enough,
to train the little lovely pieces of me?
How may my bitter teeth soothe those lips of yours, moist
to train the little lovely pieces of me?
How may my bitter teeth soothe those lips of yours, moist
with need,
desire sans filter like breathless night bound to the moon
Cries eaten out of pleasures fierce
with Summer's unattainable
light.

Did Someone Say Grace?
His words are distinctly irrational so I pull a sullen face,
waiting for the lesson he relishes in teaching me to be done, or perhaps
I wait for the grace he has yet to deliver in our short time together.
No one to blame but myself, for there is only One who can restore
me to whole, and it appears I have submitted to the wrong one.

Slip-Away Heart
I dream of years of acceptance, a tribute to
my heart, nestled in too many rejections
a heart sliping away
in tiny degrees of shame;
i unbutton my flea market cotton dress &
make love to the cool kitchen floor
that begs my heart to stay.
